A White Christmas!!!

This year we stayed in Knoxville for Christmas day. We actually did last year as well but it wasn't planned. We want to start new traditions with our girls and having them wake up at our house is important to us. That doesn't mean that we didn't miss seeing our family on Christmas because we definitely did. I LOVE the Christmas season and would like to decorate as soon as I take our fall/Halloween decorations down. I can't wait for my girls to understand the meaning of Christmas and see the excitement in their eyes! Grace was VERY excited about "other stuff" that revolves around Christmas, but when we asked her whose birthday it was she said, "Cinderella?" WAHA!! As Grace does when she normally wakes up in the morning, she came into our room and jumped into bed with us not even asking one question about what was waiting for her by the tree. She just didn't quite get the whole idea of Santa this year. She's close, but not quite there. She thought he was actually coming to our house on Christmas morning. The first thing she said when we came downstairs was, "Where's Santa?" This turned out to be a good thing for us this year because Santa must've had a HUGE brain fart and didn't put the only thing Grace asked for into her stocking........CANDY CAMES!!!! Santa snuck downstairs and took care of that first thing in the morning.....SHEW!!

We got downstairs SO excited to show Grace what Santa had left her!! We showed her where he ate some of the cookies we left for him and the reindeer took some bites of their carrots! Grace checked out her loot and was most excited about her Rudolph figurines! She LOVES little animals/people that she can arrange and place in houses, barns, etc. Anna was thrilled with her new teether and was wondering what all the fuss was about! :)
I wanted to make a big, traditional Christmas dinner, but quickly decided that would be a waste since we were leaving for the next 5 days. So I opted for a meal of appetizers that we could graze on during the day. We had a laid back day of playing with toys, toys, and more toys and watched The Christmas Story a few hundred times by the end of the day. We even had a white Christmas in Knoxville and watched it snow on and off during the day!! We had a great Christmas day and were SO excited to head to Indiana to celebrate with family over the next few days!
