I was SO excited to take the girls to see Santa this year and couldn't wait to see Grace's reaction to him! Grace has NEVER been a shy child and will literally walk up to anyone and everyone and strike up a conversation. But let's face it, it is a little weird to tell our kids to go up to a complete stranger and sit on his lap!! That's got to be a tad strange for any kid! 
We took them to Santa's Cottage in Oak Ridge. If you Knoxvillians haven't heard of it, I highly recommend it! It was in a small, shopping center (odd) but it turned out great! There were only two families in front of us and that gave us some time to get a few cute pics of the girls! Once inside, Grace stopped cold in her tracks. She didn't start crying.....but she wasn't moving either. Fortunately, she snapped out of it fairly quickly and slowly walked up to Santa. She got up on his lap and asked for what I can imagine any almost three year-old would want........"candy cames!" WAHAHAHA!! Once he gave her a "candy came," she didn't know what to do or say. We were able to get both girls looking at (or somewhat in the direction) of the camera for a decent picture! Christmas miracle? I think so!!
